WGS Workgroup Solutions GmbH is looking for a Altimetry Missions Engineer to join our Engineering Team for our customer, EUMETSAT. The service will be provided on-site in Darmstadt, Germany.
To provide engineering services for the Sentinel-6B satellite, the new altimetry system, and the CRISTAL and CIMR missions. This includes supporting operations and exploitation of the Sentinel-6C and Sentinel-3-NextGeneration-Topography missions, as well as developing, deploying, and preparing a payload data ground segment for the operational exploitation of the CRISTAL and CIMR missions. The initial focus will be on these projects, with support from other teams in the Technical and Scientific Support (TSS) and Operations (OPS) Departments. The service is expected to later extend to other Low Earth Orbit and Geostationary Orbit missions under development at the customer.
The Key Person shall have the following experience and background:
- Fluency in English.
- A university degree in a relevant technical discipline (i.e. RF Engineer, Aerospace Engineering, System Engineer, Telecommunication Engineer, Electrical and Electronics Engineer etc. ) or the equivalent work experience,
- Experience with the elaboration of system and operations concepts and the associated analysis and trade-offs
- Experience with requirements engineering (Functional analysis, requirements elaboration/allocation/tracing/verification)
- Experience with architectural design and in particular the design of interfaces
- Experience with the execution of system integration and verification activities
- Knowledge of model based system engineering methodology and tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect)
- Knowledge of requirement management process and tools (e.g. DOORS)
- Knowledge of processes implementation based on standards, in particular knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards
- Knowledge of CCDSD File Base Protocol
- Familiarity with configuration change control management
- Experience with Low-Earth Orbiting satellite
- Experience in the area of RF engineering and verification on space to ground links
- Experience in the area of mission control systems, operations or on ground processors.
- Having knowledge and experience in CRISTAL (Polar Ice and Snow Topographic), CO2M, CHIME (Hyperspectral Imaging), CIMR (Passive Microwave Imaging), and LSTM (Land Surface Temperature Monitoring) is advantageous.
