We are looking for a Quality Assurance Service Engineer to support EUMETSAT’s Process Assurance and Management Support activities for PRD programmes in development. The role covers QA support for programme development across LEO, CMD, ALT, SSC and NPS-related activities, including process assurance, documentation control, review support, anomaly and non-conformity handling, risk management, and lessons learned activities.
The service will be mainly on-site at EUMETSAT Headquarters in Darmstadt, with remote work possible where applicable.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
- Identify and report QA issues to the Technical Officer.
- Monitor PRD programme QA plans and policies and propose updates or new QA documentation when needed.
- Organise ARB/NRB meetings, support AR/NCR handling, and maintain related records and reports.
- Support QA activities in Ground Segment procurement, Space Segment procurement, System Engineering, and IVV.
- Contribute to the preparation and execution of formal reviews, test reviews, checkpoints, and keypoints.
- Monitor and contribute to risk management activities and the lessons learned process.
- Provide monthly and yearly status reporting, including service progress, actions, risks, SLT status, and deliverable tracking.
- Perform additional QA tasks requested by the Technical Officer during programme development.
The candidate shall have the following attributes and skills:
- University degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 years’ background in space systems, space/ground segments, or a highly procedural regulated environment.
- Proven experience in project QA positions and hands-on experience in system engineering-related activities, including control and monitoring of existing processes in the Ground Segment, Space Segment, System Engineering, and IVV areas.
- Knowledge and experience with engineering standards such as ECSS or New Space frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience in ISO 9001:2015.
- Experience in organising and conducting Project Reviews.
- Fluency in English.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Very good teamwork attitude.
It would be a distinct advantage for the key person to have experience in:
- QA process definition, implementation, monitoring, and control.
- Risk management and lessons learned processes.
- Anomaly and non-conformity management.
- Reporting and follow-up of procured items.
- Project management and planning, including critical path awareness.
- Drafting management reports and executive summaries in English.
- Collaborative programmes involving multiple partners.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
