WGS Workgroup Solutions GmbH is urgently looking for a Design, Development, Validation, Deployment Engineer to join our Engineering Team for our customer EUSPA and EC with a start on 06/11/2025.

The service will be provided onsite at the Galileo Security Monitoring Centre France (GSMC-FR) in France.

The candidate/consultant will manage system requirements engineering for EUSPA developments, such as Galileo, EGNOS, GOVSATCOM, and other EU Space Programme components. This includes handling UNCLASSIFIED (UNCLA) and CLASSIFIED (CLA) requirements throughout their lifecycle, ensuring proper interpretation, allocation, and traceability of high-level to lower-level specifications.

The maximum EUCI handling for this position is European Union Restricted (R-UE/ UE-R). Focus of the position is on the technical baseline of the Galileo Security Monitoring system
(GAL SECMON). This system will enable the provision of security monitoring services contributing to the defence of the infrastructure of various EU Space Programme Components including Galileo. The GAL SECMON is developed applying the Agile methodology, under ESA
management. However, EUSPA is deeply involved in the specification and implementation of the system, including its qualification and tuning. EUSPA is managing the ATG maintenance of GAL SECMON and its continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in drafting and refining technical specifications for ground segment evolutions.
  • Analyze industry proposals and provide insights on compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee industrial development plans, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate performance metrics (KPIs) for ground segment evolutions and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in design, qualification, and acceptance reviews at all system levels to ensure compliance with requirements and readiness for operations.
  • Follow up of industrial activities related to operations engineering, including definition of CONOPS (Concept of Operations), SECOPS (Security of Operations), design for operations, human centred design, operators training and contributing to the Service Provision Requirements Document (SPRD) compliance
  • Follow up on maintenance engineering tasks, focusing on Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), including Maintenance Concept, Packaging & Handling Storage and Transportation (PHS&T) requirements, Fault Detection Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) strategy, maintainer training with focus on establishing the documentary basis that will be input to the Operator/Service Provider
  • Support delivery, handover, and acceptance processes for subsystems and components. including the industrial development and AIV plans and associated risks, contributing to the development of the associated risk mitigation actions with industry
  • Manage and oversee deployment activities, migration scenarios, and Entry-into-Service (EIS) phases.
  • Coordinate anomaly resolution during qualification and EIS processes.
  • Prepare and oversee handover data packages ; RIDs (Review Item Discrepancy) to System, Segment level reviews data packages to ensure seamless transfer to operators or service providers
  • Contribute to technical and governance boards, including risk, schedule, and change management boards.
Qualifications

The Key Person shall have the following experience and background:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (Aerospace, Aeronautics, Telecommunications engineering, Software, System or Computer Sciences, etc.).
  • At least 3 years’ experience in ground segment system engineering development and validation related activities, particularly within EU space programs like Galileo, EGNOS, or GOVSATCOM.
  • Strong understanding of operations engineering, maintenance engineering, and associated logistics.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) concepts and tools.
  • Experience in risk assessment, mitigation planning, and performance evaluation.
  • Proficiency in managing and validating technical requirements and migration scenarios.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills to support compliance and qualification processes.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory, with additional language skills aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to be indicated in the CV.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Ability to handle complex engineering projects and contribute to governance boards.
